1. Present perfect tense (Thì hiện tại hoàn thành)

2. Passive voice (Thể bị động)

a. Cấu trúc chung

Lưu ý:

  • Có thể bỏ by me/ by him/ by her/ by it/ by us/ by you/ by them/ by someone/ by somebody/ by people khi chuyển sang câu bị động.
  • Vị trí sắp xếp các trạng ngữ: S  +  be  + Vpp  + địa điểm + by O  +  thời gian
  • Khi chủ ngữ trong câu chủ động là phủ định (no one, nobody, none of… ) thì khi chuyển sang câu bị động, chúng ta chia động từ bị động ở dạng phủ định

b. Dạng bị động với động từ có 2 tân ngữ

Ta thường gặp một số câu có 2 tân ngữ đi sau động từ:

VD: He gave me a book.

Ta thấy sau động từ: “gave” có 2 tân ngữ là “me” và “a book”.

Khi câu chủ động có hai tân ngữ ta có thể chuyển thành 2 câu bị động hoặc chọn một trong hai tân ngữ làm chủ ngữ nhưng ưu tiên tân ngữ chỉ người

VD: I was given a book. (Câu chủ động với tân ngữ chỉ người được chọ làm chủ ngữ mới)

        A book was given to me. (Câu bị động với tân ngữ chỉ vật được chọn làm chủ ngữ mới.)

c. Bị động với động từ khuyết thiếu

Các động từ khuyết thiếu (modal verb): Can, could, would, should, may, might, need, must, ought to

Câu chủ động : S + Modal V + V0+ O.

Câu bị động: S + modal V + be + V3 + (+ by + O).

VD: - Chủ động: She can speak English fluently.

 - Bị động: English can be spoken fluently

Exercise 1: Write the correct tense of the verbs in brackets in correct tenses (Simple past or Present Perfect)

Exercise 2: Write the passive voice of the following sentences

  1. Somebody has taken my briefcase.
  1. The teacher returned our written work to us.

  1. The mad dog bit the little boy.
  1. The police have arrested five suspects.
  1. The doctor ordered him to take a long rest.
  1. They take their children to the zoo every week.

  1. The teacher won’t correct exercises tomorrow.
  1. Mary has operated Tom since 10 o’clock.
  1. This is the second time they have written to us about this.

  1. People drink a great deal of tea in England.
