1. “because” and “because of”

• Cấu trúc:
  • because + mệnh đề (có chủ ngữ và động từ)
    → I didn’t go to the cinema because I was tired.
  • because of + cụm danh từ/đại từ
    → I didn’t go to the cinema because of the rain.
• Cách dùng:
  Diễn tả lý do, nguyên nhân

2. So sánh tính từ dài/ngắn (Comparative and Superlative Adjectives)

• So sánh hơn:
  • Tính từ ngắn: adj + -er + than → This film is funnier than that one.
  • Tính từ dài: more + adj + than → This movie is more exciting than the last one.
• So sánh nhất:
  • Tính từ ngắn: the + adj + -est → That was the funniest film I’ve seen.
  • Tính từ dài: the most + adj → It was the most interesting documentary.

3. Mệnh đề và trạng từ chỉ sự đối lập: although / though / however

a. Although / Though

• Cấu trúc:
  Although / Though + mệnh đề (S + V)
• Cách dùng:
  Dẫn một ý trái ngược với mệnh đề chính.
  → “Though” mang tính thân mật hơn “although”.
• Ví dụ:
  • Although the film was long, I enjoyed it.
  • Though it was boring at first, it got better later.

b. However

• Cấu trúc:
  S + V. However, S + V.
• Cách dùng:
  Nối hai câu trái ngược nhau, thường có dấu phẩy sau “however”.
• Ví dụ:
  • The movie had famous actors. However, the story was weak.
  • She doesn’t like horror films. However, she watched it with her friends.
