UNIT 1: My Friends

I. TỪ VỰNG (VOCABULARY): 

1. Simple past tenses:

Thì quá khứ đơn mô tả một hoạt động đã hoàn thành diễn ra trong quá khứ. Nói cách khác, hoạt động bắt đầu trong quá khứ và kết thúc trong quá khứ.

a) Positive:

Subject + Verb in the past form (base form of the verb + ed/d for regular verbs or past tense form of the irregular verbs – Các động từ thường + ed/d hoặc hình thức quá khứ của các động từ bất quy tắc.)

E.g: You spoke really well.

        I played soccer with my friends yesterday.

b) Negative:

Did + subject + verb in the base form

Did you speak really well?

c) Negative Interrogative:

Didn’t + subject + verb in the base form

* Sử dụng thì quá khứ đơn cho:

+ Đề cập đến một hành động hoặc sự kiện đã xảy ra trong quá khứ.

+ Nói về một điều gì đó đúng trong một thời gian nào đó trong quá khứ.

+ Giải thích về một sự việc đã xảy ra nhiều lần trong quá khứ.

2. (not) adjective + enough + to – infinitive:

“Enough” là một trạng từ điều chỉnh tính từ. “Enough” có nghĩa là ‘càng nhiều càng tốt’.

E.g: Be a hard – working student and clever enough to achieve your goals in time.

III. BÀI TẬP ÁP DỤNG (Exercise):

Exercise 1: Choose the correct answers:

1. Jorge (went / gone / go / goes) ………………….to Brazil earlier this year.

Exercise 3: Combine each of the following pairs of sentences into one sentence:

1. My sister is old. She can drive a car.

=> My sister is old enough to drive a car.

2. The radio isn’t small. You can’t put in your pocket.
