II. ĐIỂM NGỮ PHÁP (LANGUAGE FOCUS):

1. Present Simple for facts:

- We can use the Present Simple to talk about things that we consider as facts (such as likes and dislikes), or are true for a long time. (Chúng ta có thể sử dụng hiện tại đơn để nói về những thứ chúng ta xem xét là sự thật (như là likes và dislikes), hoặc là sự thật trong 1 khoảng thời gian dài.

We form the Present Simple with regular verbs like this: (Chúng ta hình thành Present Simple với động từ thường như là)

+ Positive: subject + verb (-s/-es) + (object)

+ Negative: subject + don’t / doesn’t + verb +

(object)

+ Question: Do / Does + subject + verb +

(object).

Spelling rules – Adding -s / - es: 

- We add -s to most verbs: (chúng ta thêm -s cho đa số động từ)

like – likes

- For verbs that end in -o, -s, -sh, -ch, -x, -z add -es: go -> goes, pass -> passes (chúng ta sử dụng những động từ kết thúc là -o, -s, -sh, -ch, -x, -z, thêm -es: go -> goes; pass -> passes

- For verbs that end in consonant + y, change – y to -ies: study à studies.

 Note: 

I like classical / country music.

 I like pop / rock / hip hop / jazz music.

2. Prepositions of time:

- When we talk about time, we often use the preposition in,  on or at.

+ We use in with parts of the day, months, seasons, and years: in the morning,  in January, in the spring,  in 2021.

+ We use on with days and dates: on Wednesday,   on Sunday morning, on the weekend, on her birthday, on February 1st,   on Christmas.

+ We use at for times of the day and meals: at 10 p.m, at three o’clock, at breakfast.

+ We also say: at night, at noon, etc

Possessive adjectives: We use possessive adjectives to express possession. (Chúng ta sử dụng tính từ sở hữu để thể hiện sự sở hữu)

We use possessive adjectives with nouns: my song, his band, their show. (Chúng ta sử dụng tính từ sở hữu cách cùng với các danh từ)
